(Austin, Tx) – Texas now has one of the strictest abortion laws in the U.S.

The measure blocks women from ending their pregnancy after six weeks and allows citizens to sue anyone who helps a woman obtain an abortion.

Abortion providers made a request to block the law, which takes effect today, but the Supreme Court chose not to take action.
