(Arlington, Tx.) – Heads up if your travels take you through Arlington this weekend, parts of Interstate 30 will not be an option.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday night, I-30 will be closed in both directions between Hwy 360 and the Bush Turnpike.  TxDOT says the closure is necessary in order to demolish two structures that go over the freeway.  Diverted eastbound traffic will exit onto the ramps, however the westbound detour is more involved.

Westbound traffic will be rerouted down the 161-frontage road through Division St. and back up Collins St.  The Arlington Entertainment District shouldn’t be impacted this weekend because the Rangers and Cowboys are out of town.

I-30 is expected to reopen at 5:00 a.m. Monday.
