Trial Date Set For FW Officer Accused Of Murder

(Fort Worth, TX) — The trial date is now set for the former Fort Worth police officer accused of fatally shooting Atatiana Jefferson two-years ago.

Aaron Dean’s trial is scheduled to start on November 16th in Tarrant County. The shooting happened in October 2019 as Dean was conducting a welfare check at Jefferson’s mother’s home. Jefferson heard Dean outside and thought he was a prowler, so she grabbed her gun.

Dean shot her through a window, and she died at the scene. He is charged with murder.
