Former Bush Campaign Adviser Running For Lt. Gov. As Democrat

(Austin, TX) — Former George W. Bush campaign strategist Matthew Dowd is running for Texas lieutenant governor, as a Democrat.

Dowd announced the run criticizing incumbent Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick as someone who doesn’t believe in the “common good.” Dowd also called the Republican a liar and deceiver who is engaged in a culture war.

He’ll face Mike Collier in the Democratic primary next year.
