Small Plane Crashes In Chambers County

(Winnie, TX) — Authorities say a small plane crashed in Chambers County.

The incident happened just before 11 a.m. yesterday after the city of Winnie’s Rice Festival Parade. The plane was used as a float in the parade and the pilot was on his way back to the airport when it crashed into a traffic signal and down to the ground.

No injuries were reported as strong winds are believed to be a factor in the crash.

The pilot was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
