(Austin, TX)  —  A bill blocking all employer COVID vaccine mandates in Texas is not happening for now.

The Texas Tribune reports the bill stalled in state Senate, with Republican Kel Seliger calling it “anti-business.” Seliger said the bill did not have the votes to pass in the chamber before the special session ends. Several organizations have voiced their opposition to the ban on employer vaccine mandates, including the Texas Association of Business and Texas Hospital Association.

Governor Greg Abbott added it to the special session agenda last week after issuing a similar executive order.
