(Aledo, Tx) – Aledo Mayor Kit Marshall has announced in a Facebook post  that she is seeking higher office with a bid to run for State Representative of the newly redrawn Texas House District 60.

The job is currently held by Rep. Phil King of Weatherford, who recently announced his candidacy for a seat in the Texas Senate.  Marshall grew up in Aledo and has been Mayor of the city since 2006.

The new District 60 includes Parker, Palo Pinto and Stephens Counties.
