(Austin, TX) — Texas health officials are preparing to distribute the COVID vaccine for some of the 2.9 million children ages 5-to-11.
The Department of State Health Services says Texas has already pre-ordered more than 700,000 doses of the Pfizer shot ahead of expected approval by the FDA and CDC. According to KVUE, 134 counties will not receive a shipment because they have yet to place an order for the pediatric vaccine.
DSHS plans to ship out the shots within days of authorization.
