(Austin, TX) — Texas has reached a 290-million-dollar settlement agreement with Johnson & Johnson related to the opioid crisis.
State Attorney General Ken Paxton made the announcement on Tuesday, saying the company’s deceptive marketing tactics contributed to the public health problem. In July, Paxton announced Texas had joined a 26-billion-dollar multistate settlement with three pharmaceutical distributors, as well as Johnson & Johnson. Paxton says the state expects to receive more than a billion-dollars from the three other companies.
Parker County is one of the entities that joined in the lawsuit.
