(Joshua, TX) — An online threat is being blamed for extra security at Joshua ISD high schools.
Superintendent Fran Marek told parents in an email Thursday it appears the threats are coming from outside the district but will be treated as credible. Students at Joshua and New Horizon highs along with Ninth Grade Campus were kept inside all day. There were also extra patrols by Joshua ISD and Joshua police and Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies.
Marek posted on Facebook that they will continue to monitor the situation and implement additional security measures if needed.
