Fort Worth Auto Zone Clerk Shoots Threatening Customer

(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth police are investigating after a clerk at an auto parts store shot a menacing customer on Sunday morning.

The shooting was reported just after 11 a.m. at the Auto Zone on South Hulen Street at West Risinger. Police say the “irate” customer was “belligerent” towards the employee and acted like he was reaching for a weapon. Fearing for his safety, the clerk shot the man, who is hospitalized in critical condition.

The clerk is cooperating with police. No charges have been filed.
