(Austin, TX) — The Texas Department of Transportation is launching a social media campaign to try and end the 21-year streak of road deaths in the state.
The #EndTheStreakTX campaign’s purpose is to try and get across the importance of driving safely to reduce deaths on Texas roadways. Officials hope the message will encourage drivers to take more responsibility on the road by spreading stories of loved ones lost in crashes.
TxDOT said many of the crashes in Texas are preventable and are usually caused by speeding, drunk or distracted driving.
