O'Rourke Touts Labor, Pokes At Abbott In Campaign Kickoff

(San Antonio, TX) — Democrat Beto O’Rourke is coming out swinging in his campaign for governor.

O’Rourke held his first rally in San Antonio on Tuesday, speaking in the parking lot of a local labor union. He criticized Gov. Greg Abbott for signing laws that restrict abortion and allow Texans to carry guns without a permit. O’Rourke emphasized his ties to the state’s labor leaders and said he’ll work on labor-friendly policies.

His campaign travels through several Texas cities this week before going to Houston on Friday.
