Waco Zoo Eyeing Experimental Vaccine For Big Cat COVID Cases

(Waco, TX) — Zoo officials in Central Texas are looking into an experimental COVID vaccine after a rise in big cat cases and deaths nationwide.

Officials at Cameron Park Zoo in Waco said Tuesday they’re researching an experimental coronavirus vaccine that some zoos have used on cats and primates.

They’re feeling some urgency after eight big cats at the St. Louis Zoo tested positive for the coronavirus last week and three snow leopards at a zoo in Nebraska died.
