NTX School District Under Federal Investigation

(Southlake, TX) — Southlake Carroll school district is under federal investigation on race and gender discrimination allegations.

Carroll Independent School District spokesperson Karen Fitzgerald tells NBC News they’ll fully cooperate because they want to do what’s best for students. The district tried to implement a Cultural Competence Action Plan last year but failed due to parent backlash.

The plan was put in place after a 2018 Facebook video showed a white teen chanting the “n-word.” The U.S. Department of Education declined to release details on the probe.
