(Austin, TX) — ERCOT continues to prepare for the possibility of another winter storm.
The energy council says it will have inspected more than 300 power plants across the state by the end of the month to ensure they can withstand a severe weather event. State officials are requiring the weatherization of Texas power plants following the February winter storm and will fine operators up to a million dollars per day if they do not comply.
The Houston Chronicle reports the inspections will cost around ten-million-dollars.
