(Buffalo, TX) — A group of Central Texans on a hunting trip to Tennessee helped search for survivors following Friday’s outbreak of deadly tornados.

The group of three friends weathered the storm in their Tiptonville hotel room, which is about 60 miles from Mayfield, Kentucky.  Once the tornado passed, Cayden Rawls, a rookie firefighter from Buffalo, Texas headed across the street to a leveled trailer park to look for survivors.

The men spent most of the night searching the rubble before the local sheriff’s office arrived and took over.
