(Fort Worth, TX) — There will be a delay in the trial of the former North Texas police officer accused of killing a Black woman in her own home.

A Tarrant County district judge tentatively moved Aaron Dean’s trial to May 9th.  Defense attorneys requested the new trial date, saying two expert witnesses couldn’t be in court for the original January date.  They’re still hoping to get Dean’s trial moved out of Fort Worth.

Dean is an ex-Fort Worth cop prosecutors say shot Atatiana Jefferson to death through a bedroom window.  He responded to Jefferson’s home in October 2019 after a neighbor reported her front door was open.
