(Rhome, Tx) – A Northlake man has been arrested after fleeing the scene of a fatal wreck in Wise County that resulted in the death of a five-year-old boy. 

According to the Wise County Messenger, the crash happened around 1:30 Sunday morning on Hwy 287 near Rhome.  Police say an SUV driven by 18 year old Christopher Fowler collided with a pickup carrying a family of 6.  The 5 year old was pronounced dead at the scene.  A 14 year old passenger was flown to Cook Children’s hospital in Fort Worth in serious condition. 

Fowler reportedly fled the scene of the accident, but following a brief manhunt, was arrested later Sunday at his home and charged with manslaughter.
