(Austin, TX) — The Electric Reliability Council of Texas is promising its winter weatherization inspections are finished.
ERCOT Grid Planning and Weatherization Vice President Woody Rickerson says crews were happy with results after looking at over 300 generation units along with 22 transmission station facilities. He vows Texans can be confident is knowing the lights will stay on this winter. ERCOT says some generators exceeded winterization requirements while only ten needed to make minor changes.
The new rules were put in place after mass power outages hit Texas last February.
