Texas Governor Abbott Makes Reelection Announcement

(McAllen, TX) — Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott is running for a third term.

He made his campaign kickoff announcement on Saturday. Abbott called himself a proven winner who would fight to keep Texas from making a “left turn” toward what he called the “woke radical agenda.” He also focused on economic growth, border security, personal liberty and support for law enforcement in his speech.

Abbott will be making about five-dozen campaign stops around the state between now and March 1st, when the Republican and Democratic primaries are held. Abbott will likely face Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke in the November general election.
