(Austin, TX) — Texas Democrats say they aren’t letting the coronavirus scare them away from in-person campaigning this year.
In 2020, many campaigns in the state went virtual as the pandemic spread across Texas. Republicans were the first to return to in-person campaigning and gave the Democrats a thumping in November. Democrats noted that their suspension of in-person events and door-to-door campaigning had hurt them at the ballot box.
This year, a few Democratic campaigns are fully virtual, and are cautiously conducting in-person events.
