(Weatherford, Tx) – Beginning today, Weatherford ISD has closed all schools and buildings for the rest of the week due to a rise in COVID-19 cases.
District officials say they don’t have enough staff or substitutes to keep the schools open. However, all scheduled high school and middle school UIL and extracurricular activities will go on. According to a press release, the district will use the time to deep clean all campuses and facilities.
The school district is providing testing for students and staff who are symptomatic at Kanga Care Clinics in Weatherford.
Students and staff are scheduled to return to campuses on Monday, Jan. 24th.
