(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth ISD schools will have slightly longer days starting next year.
District trustees approved the addition of 30 learning hours to the 2022-2023 school year. That breaks down to an extra 15-minutes every school day. Middle school and high school students will start classes a smidge earlier, while pre-K and elementary school students will stay later in the day.
A new state law requires more learning time for students who fail the STAAR test. The added 30 hours are intended to help those students catch up.
