(Dallas, TX) — Wintry weather is causing travel delays in North Texas in the air and on the ground.
American and Southwest Airlines were canceling flights at both DFW Airport and Love Field before the winter storm arrived. An American spokesman says the idea was to give people time to make other travel plans.
The roadways are no better. TxDOT expects the roads to be covered in ice with deteriorating conditions through the morning. People are encouraged to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.
Medstar ambulance service in Tarrant County says crews responded to 77 crashes yesterday, that’s 250% more than usual. 17 calls of falls from the ice, and 9 cold exposure calls.
