North Texas Incumbents Win Their Primaries

(Weatherford, Tx) – Several North Texas incumbents beat out challengers in their various primary elections.

Parker County Judge, Pat Deen received 61% of the vote to defend his seat against Thomas Moorman.  Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier, who was appointed to the job last March following the death of Larry Fowler, got 54% of the vote to win against his challenger, Fort Worth Police Officer and Mayor of Hudson Oaks, Marc Povero.  Authier will face Libertarian candidate Russell E. Hess in November.

Stephenville’s Sid Miller held on to his job as Texas Agriculture Commissioner, avoided a runoff with State Rep. James White and rancher Carey Counsil.  Miller will face Democrat Susan Hays in November.

Wichita County will get a new County Judge with the retirement of Judge Woody Gossom at the end of his term.  State Representative James Frank’s Chief of Staff Jim Johnson has won the Republican Primary Nomination.  He’ll face the Democratic candidate Janaye Evans in the November 2022 midterm elections.
