(Fort Worth, TX) — President Biden will not be meeting with the Granbury family of a former Marine being held in Russia.
A spokesperson for Trevor Reed’s family says the White House declined their request to meet today when Biden visits North Texas. Reed’s parents are planning to demonstrate outside where the President is scheduled to speak in Fort Worth. Reed was sentenced to nine years in prison in 2020 after being convicted of assault on a police officer.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken argued for his release last year.
