Abbott Declares Disaster In 11 Texas Counties Due To Wildfires

(Austin, TX)  —  Eleven Texas counties are under a disaster declaration issued by Gov. Greg Abbott is response to wildfires across the state.

The declaration includes Brooks, Brown, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Grayson, Mason, Potter, Randall, Reynolds and Williamson Counties.  The governor’s disaster declaration gives the affected counties access to all available state resources to respond to the fires.

Abbott said at a press conference on Friday that at least 50-homes have burned, and an Eastland County deputy has been killed.
