(Ranger, TX) — The congregation of Second Baptist Church in Ranger is still worshiping, even after wildfire gutted their sanctuary.

The church building is more than 75-years-old, and it fell victim to the Eastland wildfires, which are still burning.  Churchgoers worshiped on Sunday in a field across the street from the building.  Second Baptist Church of Ranger only has about 15-members, but other local churches canceled their Sunday services to join them.

The Texas Forest service posted Monday morning, that the Eastland Complex fire has burned an estimated 54,134 acres. The complex of 7 fires remains 30% contained.
