(Granbury, Tx) – The “Big L” fire south of Lipan is under control.

It burned more than 11,000 acres. The evacuation order for the City of Lipan has been lifted.  Firefighters set up a line at Star Hollow Road south of Lipan, and that’s where they stopped it from spreading. Star Hollow Road, County Road 148, and Boswell Court are closed, except to firefighting equipment.

Since noon Sunday, four firefighters have been injured. One received first degree burns. She was taken to the hospital, treated and released. Three became dehydrated and were temporarily taken out of service. They are ok now.

A Granbury church is open for fire evacuees: Granbury Methodist at 301 NE Loop 567. Contact them directly to learn what needs they might have as they host evacuees.

The Hood County Fairgrounds is available for cattle that have been evacuated. It is at 641 Reunion Court.

Donations for fire evacuees and firefighters are being received at Decker Gym, 600 West Bridge St., Granbury, TX on Monday between noon and 6 p.m.

Donations Needed: Non-perishable food, lip balm, eye wash, alcohol-free wipes, over-the counter pain relievers (Tylenol or Advil), and body lotion.  Due to public health restrictions, no clothing items are being accepted. Water and sports drinks are not needed.
