(Eastland, TX) — An Eastland County sheriff’s deputy, killed Thursday as devastating wildfires swept through North Central Texas, will be laid to rest today.
The funeral for Deputy Sergeant Barbara Fenley takes place Wednesday, March 23rd at 2pm at Myrtle Wilks Center in Cisco. Sergeant Fenley was helping with evacuations in Carbon when she lost control of her vehicle and was unable to escape the flames.
She began her career in law enforcement in 2003.
The 54,000 acre Eastland Complex Fire is still burning, but now about 70% contained.
