(Austin, TX) —  Willie Nelson and his wife say they had trouble with the mail-in ballot provisions of the state’s new election integrity law when they voted in the primary.

Annie D’Angelo-Nelson says she and Willie both had to resubmit their applications for absentee ballots in Travis County because the ID information they had filled out on the forms was inconsistent.  Thousands of voters statewide had their applications or mail-in ballots rejected because they hadn’t filled them out properly under the new law.

The Nelsons were ultimately able to vote by mail.
