GoFundMe For Teen Caught In Truck During Tornado Surpasses Goal

(Austin, TX) — The GoFundMe set up for the teenager whose truck was caught in a tornado is past its goal.

The fundraiser for 16-year-old Riley Leon has collected more than $41,000 surpassing the $30,000 goal just days after it was launched by a nurse at the teen’s school. A video of Leon’s red truck getting flipped over and dragged by a tornado in Elgin last week has garnered more than five-million views on social media.

The money from the GoFundMe will go to Leon’s medical costs for his injuries sustained in the storm.
