Student Pilot Killed In Chopper Crash ID’d As Pilot Point Veterinarian

(Rowlett, TX) — Relatives of a student pilot killed in a helicopter crash in Rowlett on Friday are identifying him as 42-year-old Ty Wallis.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board confirmed the flying instructor was a woman but didn’t release her name.  Witnesses say they saw the Robinson R-44 model helicopter falling from the sky in pieces on Friday afternoon.

Wallis was an equine veterinarian who worked in Pilot Point.
