(Austin, TX) —  Gov. Greg Abbott is lifting additional state inspection orders for commercial vehicles at one Texas-Mexico border bridge.

Abbott announced on Wednesday that state troopers will no longer inspect every truck entering Texas across the Laredo-Colombia Solidarity International Bridge.  Abbott made the move after Nuevo León Gov. Samuel García agreed to step up security measures at the border.

There are a dozen other border bridges still subject to the inspection mandate.

Abbott says conversations start today with the governors of the three other Mexican states that border Texas.
