(Washington, DC)  —  Today is the federal tax deadline for most Americans.  It’s the last day to send in returns or file for an extension.

Data shows nearly one-third of all taxpayers don’t file until the last minute.  According to the IRS, the average refund this year is over $3,200 dollars.

That’s up more than 11% from last year.
