(Washington, DC)  —  A Granbury man charged in connection with last year’s Capitol riot wants his case moved out of Washington, DC.

Lawyers for Stewart Rhodes, who founded the far-right militia group Oath Keepers, argue the jury pool in nation’s capital is tainted by bias, stemming from its residents’ liberal political leanings.  They also want the most serious charge of seditious conspiracy dropped.

Other accused rioters have tried the same tactic, hoping for a friendly court.  None of the change-of-venue requests have been approved.
