Peak Snake Season Arrives In Texas

(Austin, TX) —  It’s peak snake season in Texas and wildlife officials are reminding everyone to stay vigilant.

Snake sightings this time of year are more common for several reasons.  Snakes need to use the environment to regulate their body temperatures, they’re hunting for food after a winter without eating, and it’s breeding season.

Texas Parks and Wildlife says that while most snakes in the area are non-venomous, residents are reminded to leave the reptiles alone.
