(Granbury, TX) — The family of a North Texas ex-Marine is happy he’s back in Texas.

Video was released early this morning showing Trevor Reed landing in San Antonio.  The 28 year old appeared to look weak as he was escorted off the plane.  Officials say he was evaluated by a medical team on the plane and taken to a military hospital in San Antonio.  His parents, Joey and Paula Reed, held a press conference Wednesday from their home in Granbury.  They promise Trevor will tell his own story when he’s ready and asked for privacy as he deals with health issues.

Reed was sentenced to nine years in prison for allegedly assaulting a Russian cop after a night of heavy drinking in 2019.  The U.S. was able to secure his release through a prisoner exchange for a Russian drug smuggler.

Reed’s mom tweeted it was a very exciting day for the whole family.
