Fake Bomb Threats At North Texas Colleges

(Weatherford, Tx) – Bomb threats were called in to several colleges across the state, including two here in North Texas.

Around 2:00 Thursday afternoon, a bomb threat was reported at the Alkek Fine Arts Center on the campus of Weatherford College.  Weatherford police and fire made a sweep of the building and determined there was no credible threat and WC says it soon resumed normal operations.

Less than an hour later, a bomb threat was called in to The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth forced the evacuation of the Research and Education Building.  A statement by HSC said a Fort Worth Bomb Squad checked the building and gave it the all-clear by 4pm.

Fake bomb threats were also made at Dallas College Richland Campus and Austin Community College.  The FBI is investigating.
