(Austin, TX) — ERCOT is asking Texans to conserve energy Monday with triple-digit temperatures expected in much of the state.
The council has issued a Conservation Appeal urging Texas residents to limit power usage from two to eight p.m. to reduce strain on the grid. The Public Utility Commission recommends Texans conserve power by slightly increasing the thermostat and not using large appliances.
ERCOT officials say conservation is voluntary, and no outages are expected at this time.
