Coroner Determines Former Cowboys RB Died Of Heat Stroke

(Undated) —  An official cause of death for former Cowboys running back Marion Barber the Third is being released.

According to a report out on Monday from the Collin County Medical Examiner’s office, the 38-year-old died of heat stroke.  He was found dead in his apartment on June 1st after police were called to do a welfare check.  Officers reported a bathtub faucet was running when they arrived, and the thermostat was set at 91 degrees.

The coroner noted in his report that Barber was known for working out in “sauna-like conditions.”  His death was ruled an accident.
