Texas Summers Are Getting Hotter

(College Station, TX) — This week’s calls for energy conservation in Texas are highlighting how hot this summer has been.

Professor Andy Dessler at Texas A&M says we haven’t seen a heat wave like this since 2011. He’s the head of the Texas Center for Climate Studies and says the hot years are getting hotter. In ten years, he says this year will look like a cool summer.

Dessler says we haven’t passed the peak that we saw in 2011, but there’s still two-thirds of the summer left.
