(Fort Worth, Tx) – Parker and Wise Counties became the latest in North Texas to suffer from wildfires.

On Wednesday afternoon, a large and fast moving grass fire broke out along FM 51 near Veal Station Road south of Springtown.  At least 25 acres were scorched in the Sandlin Fire and multiple structures threatened.  Residents in the immediate area had to be evacuated.

In Wise County, Alvord Fire Dept crews responded to a new grass fire in the area of Old Decatur Road and the Black Creek Lake Recreation area.  Firefighters believe it may have been caused by lightning when strong thunderstorms moved into the area.
