(White Settlement, TX)  —  A man shot and wounded by a White Settlement police officer earlier this week has now died.  However, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of 37 year old David Najera as a suicide from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Najera was involved in a low speed chase with officers Tuesday afternoon, at one point he stopped on Meadow Park Drive and got out of his pick-up with a gun pointed to his head.  White Settlement Police say the officers ordered the man to drop the weapon, when he refused, an officer shot him.  Najera was taken to the hospital where he later died.  The department has not yet identified the officer.
