(Fort Worth, TX) – A North Texas family is fighting Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, in hopes of keeping their daughter on life support.

Payton Summers was placed on a ventilator last week after going into cardiac arrest.  Her family’s attorney says they just want to find another hospital to give the nine-year-old a chance to slowly recover.  The attorney also accuses Cook Children’s of putting profits over patient care.  Cook Children’s says the girl is brain dead and cannot breathe on her own.

The family was issued a Temporary Restraining Order yesterday preventing the hospital from taking Payton off life support for 14 days.
