(Dallas, TX) — If you were having trouble getting online or found you’d lost your TV service, chances are you’re an AT&T customer.

The company posted on Twitter that “Due to a direct lightning strike on one of our facilities in the area, we are experiencing internet issues.”  AT&T says a fire caused by a lightning strike in an electrical room is being blamed for widespread internet outages across North Texas.  Primary and backup electrical systems were burned as part of the incident yesterday morning.

Most service was restored overnight.
