(Fort Worth, TX) — A nine-year-old girl will remain on life support at a Fort Worth hospital until next Monday night.
A temporary restraining order was scheduled to expire Monday, but a Tarrant County Judge extended it after Payton Summons’ family said they want to make sure all options are explored before she is removed from life support. Summons was declared brain dead by doctors at Cook Children’s Medical Center, where she was taken after going into cardiac arrest on September 25th. Her family told the judge there are several facilities around the country willing to take the girl.
