(FORT WORTH, TX) – The fines for parking tickets in Cowtown could be on the rise.

The Fort Worth City Council at tonight’s meeting, will consider an increase on parking violations in ten categories, including expired meters, illegally parking in fire lanes and handicapped spots, plus extra fees if it’s an over-sized truck.  Some fines could go up as much as $200.  Late fees would also double under the new proposal from $25 to $50 if fines are not paid within 21 days.

If the new fines are approved by the City, they would take effect January 1st.
