(Fort Worth, TX) — Investigators in Fort Worth are looking for a burglar who attacked an 83 year old woman and ransacked her son’s home while her dying husband lay in bed.
Police say around 6am Monday, the man broke into the home on West 5th Street, near the West 7th St entertainment district, while Suzy Alummuttil was sleeping next to her husband, who had just come home from being in hospice care. Alummuttil says she woke up while the man was still there and called 911. The burglar tried to take her phone away and knocked her out of her wheelchair. The man stole some items and got away in their son’s 2005 Silverdo pickup truck, with Texas license plate 04WXL9.
Neither of the victims was injured, but Alummuttil’s husband died the next day. Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Worth Police.
